Cardmaker Hop

Hello, friends!  It’s a special day at my home in the ether – it’s a blog hop!  Today the folks at Cardmaker Magazine and Clearsnap have a great lineup of projects to share with you and I hope you will hop along – I’m sure you will soak up loads of inspiration along the way!  As for my part, I’ve got a mixed media tag to share with you that primarily uses iZink media from Clearsnap to easily achieve a brilliant blend of hues.  If you comment along the way on this hop, you will be in the runnning to win some of this yummy iZink that I”m showcasing today!

VivianKehButterflyTag_AI have a brief tutorial to go with just in case you are interested in trying out some of these fabulously easy techniques!

VivianKehButterflyTag_1Yummy! This colorful blend was created with a Clearsnap Art Wheel and drops of iZink on a scrap piece of thick paper.  All I did was roll it on!

Once the piece had dried, I die-cut and embossed it using a beautiful new Sizzix die + embossing folder (see end of post).  The raised edges were accentuated using a nice, juicy, Mix’d Media Inx in Black.

VivianKehButterflyTag_2This tag was rolled the same way using the Art Wheel, with color that was just a bit diluted with water.  The organic patterns were created with dilute iZink and the Rollagraph tool with a “Marbling” insert.

VivianKehButterflyTag_4I added some vascular hot glue trails to create the organic feeling that I love in my mixed media projects.  For video tutorials on this technique, I have plenty on my YouTube channel.

VivianKehButterflyTag_5This SMOOCH Spritz in Copper is one of my favorite new colors and I’m using it quite a bit.

VivianKehButterflyTag_BIn this pic above, you can see how the colors I chose coordinate and some of the juicy textures that I adore.

VivianKehButterflyTag_CI hope you enjoyed my project today!  I think these techniques could easily be adapted to mixed media cards, layouts, and art journals!

Thanks so much for stopping by.

-Vivian
