Packing Some Punch Into Your Punch!

If you’re familiar with my cards, you know that they are usually kind of intricate – I will work on one for hours on end. These days, I’ve been experimenting with a simpler style, cards that are attractive and that come together rather quickly. I’ve also been meditating on one item, be it a stamp or a specific tool, brainstorming how many different styles or uses I can come up with for that single item.  That’s what the last vid was all about.

Good news – Clearsnap, a company whose inks I constantly use, liked it enough to post the video, “One Stamp, Three Ways,” on their facebook page!

As this is a brand for which I have developed a deep respect, this deeply warmed my heart.  I’ve been making videos for some time now, and it felt no less than awesome to get a bit of recognition!  Thanks, Clearsnap!

Recently, I picked up a Fiskars banner punch – it’s a new one made in collaboration with Jenni Bowlin.  Lurve punches because…

1) They’re so easy, and I can grab for one and use it with immediate gratification!

2) Although I love my die-cutting machine, sometimes it’s a pain to pull it out when my craft room is a mess and there’s no place to put it.

3) You can just shove that punch onto the tiniest scraps you have left on your craft table and really get some bang for the buck you spent on the paper!

So I’m going to do the same experiment that I did with my stamp in my last video,  but this time, it’s going to be all about “Packing Some Punch Into Your Punch!”  Haha!  Do you like the title?  I try to make the titles catchy when possible!

The punch which will be featured in the upcoming video was used to make this…

How many ways can you use your paper punch?

The butterflies have been swarming around the brussel sprout plant which I accidentally let go to seed before having the chance to harvest any delectable goodies.  Their antennae are absolutely fascinating to me!  They inspired this card which I am entering in CAS-ual Fridays current challenge.  The folks at CAS-ual Fridays are dedicated to clean and simple cards and they have challenges every week which will help jump-start your creative muse.  Their interest in CAS cards will definitely nudge me to step outside my comfort zone, and I think I’ll play along often!

I’ve got a bit of an addendum at the end of my crafting day – this is another idea I had in which I was able to incorporate feathers for the antennae!  This one below is for the Moxie Fab Feathers Challenge and the Papercrafts Magazine March Challenge!

Another piece of news – a card a made quite a long time ago has just been published in the MAY/JUNE 2012 issue of Papercrafts Magazine!  It’s in their “Inspired by” section and there’s a picture of Pupusa and me next to the card!
