Hello and welcome to day one of the two-day DCWV/Hampton Art Holiday Hop!
DCWV and Hampton Art are two companies that go above and beyond to provide a wide selection of products from classic, to vintage, to trendy and modern. So, when we decided to team up it was only natural that we would want to show you some variety.
Day #1 of our hop is all about vintage! Whether you are talking lace and pearls and soft weathered colors or distressed, grungy, and aged, if you love all things vintage we have some beautiful projects to show you today!
If you have come here from the DCWV blog, then you’re on track! If not, you should go back to the DCWV blog, and start the hop from there!
Y’all have seen a bunch of projects from me that use DCWV, so when I found out the the designers at DCWV would be hopping with the us Hampton Art gals, I nearly fell out of my seat haha! All of the designers posting today were instructed to use specific swap materials – stamps, papers, inks, etc. I can’t wait to hop today and see how each designer’s sensibilities inform their projects – so so fun!
With swap goodies in hand, I crafted a pair of Christmas cards to share with you today. For the first, I stamped this wonderfully delicate nutcracker image using the Triumphant Red Dye Ink.
The sentiment was stamped using the Luxe Metallic Inks. In addition, I punched a snowflake border using a Martha Stewart punch. All pieces were aged with a bit of distress ink. After assembling, for an extra hit of texture, I simply wrapped the card front with a bit of red twine.
For my second card, I kept the palette rather monochromatic – I’ve been really digging this way of working lately! Crafting in this way has turned out to be a simple method to infuse a soft elegance into your projects!
The trick to this simple card was in placing the snowflakes in an arrangement that looked as random and organic as possible.
With the addition of some self-adhesive pearls and a bit of Shimmer Satin Red ribbon to get my sentiment to pop off the card a bit more dramatically, this card was done!
