Core’dinations + Imaginisce Blog Hop

Hello friends!  Today marks the start of a few fun days of hopping for you which includes projects from the designers at Imaginisce and Core’dinations.  You’ll get to see how nicely our cardstock pairs with fun patterned papers from Imaginisce and also some effects made possible with the use of wonderful tools from Imaginisce.

Today I have a layout which documents a memorable road trip hubbie and I took from Las Vegas to San Jose to visit our then new house.   On the way back, I was able to snap some fantastic nature shots in just the right light at sunset.  Had we not been late making it onto the road,  we wouldn’t have experienced these breathtaking spectacles of nature.  For this project, I paired our rich Core’dinations cardstock tones from the Vintage Collection and our Graphic 45 Signature Collection with fun “journey” themed patterned papers from Imaginisce.

I crafted a torn panel which caught some of the tones in my photos nicely and also went well with these papers from Imaginisce.  We have such a wide variety of hues at Core’dinations that our cardstock works well with just about everything!

As I journaled this, I realized how well this layout serves as a metaphor for my husband and me – we found each other after no small amount of tribulation, and I think we can deeply appreciate one another especially because of those trials.

With the scraps left over, I also made this fun card!

I love this Imaginisce sheet with the colorful words – while it goes with the rest of the camping themed collection, it is also perfect for projects that celebrate life and the adventurous spirit.  I layered Core with these patterned papers, and distressed all the edges by roughing them up and/or inking them.

  1. I love the way the Core’dination paper tears and leaves another color to add to the overall layout. I really liked your card with the colorful scraps used.

  2. Love your sunset layout, it’s beautiful. I think there is a book in you and your husband’s love story. Everytime you mention bits of your love story I am intrigued and want to know more, I love a really good story.

  3. I love the panel for your pictures. The sanding just enhances the softness of the pictures, cool. Such a cute card! Thank you.

  4. WOW WOW WOW – fabulous pair of projects Vivian!!!
Your photos look great and your torn Core layers are the perfect way to showcase them. As for your card, love what you had done with your scrappy leftovers – the patterned punchy petals are perfect against your distressed Core.
Thank You for the inspiration 🙂

  5. Gorgeous rustic colors. Love that flower too. The red button makes it pop. The photos are breath taking. TFS!

  6. Love the layers of torn paper to match the photos. What a great way to display the beautiful scenery. Love this layout. Well done!
