Coming Back to White

After several sessions in the craft room with lots of inks and mists, once in awhile it’s really refreshing to come back to white.  When I limit myself to white, textures become the focus.  And the result is always clean. Today I pulled on some of Brenda Walton’s line of dies and embossing folders with Sizzix to craft a wedding card for a dear old friend who will be tying the knot this July!

VivianKehWeddingCard_1To start, I dry embossed a piece of white cardstock using the “Roses” embossing folder.  See the Sizzix sandwich above?   I spread out my sandwich a bit so you can see the order clearly.  If there’s ever any question about which tab to use, just refer to the illustrations on the multi-purpose platform.

VivianKehWeddingCard_2After sending that through, I die cut a few of the pieces in the “Floral Wreath” Thinlits Set – there are so many dies in this one!  These die-cuts will be layered for a pretty focal image.

VivianKehWeddingCard_3Sizzix has a new Die Brush and Foam Pad that remove tiny bits and pieces from dies and die-cuts.  I know this will be a real time-saver when I want to craft an elegant card but I’ve waited until the very last minute.

VivianKehWeddingCard_HiResI backed this one with some pre-embossed cardstock from Core’dinations, added some organza, pearl dots, and to add just a little more contrast, a small silver heart.

VivianKehWeddingCard_CThis embossing folder has a lovely, feminine design.  Both the embossed and debossed surfaces are interesting.  Using this embossing folder, I recently played with some mixed media scraps and and debossing – will share those fun results with you in a few days.

VivianKehWeddingCard_BWhite showcases shadows beautifully – using foam dots with die-cuts will further accentuate those shadows.

VivianKehWeddingCard_AHope you are having a great week!  Thanks for stopping by.
