If you’ve arrived here from Julianne’s blog, you are in the right place!

Today I have an altered project to share with you – this started out as a corrugate box that originally held a new remote control for our TV!

Box_AI used a really fun mixed media technique and brand new Prima goodies as well as a stencil (on sale) that I had just picked up from my LSS, Scrapbook Island, to create this yummy box!  I hope you’ll take a break from your day to check out the video tutorial.  Adjust your settings in youtube if you’d like to watch it in HD!

I like the bottom almost as much as I like the top.

Box_BCan you guess what product I used with my stencil?

Box_CLove how easily it helped me integrate a variety of colors, blend them naturally with one another…

Box_D…  And add a bit o’ grunge appeal to a rather vintage inspired project.  I did some fun clustering, too – on this day I did not hoard! Got it and used it w00t w00t lol!

Box_EI thought it needed just a teensy weensy bit more softness, so I ribbonworked a few organza flowers – tutorial for these little pretties is linked in the description box under the video.

Box_FI hope you enjoyed my project and video!  If you’re in need of some inspiration, I have a collection of tutorials on my TUTORIALS tab ready for your viewing pleasure, and many more to come.  Hope you’ll subscribe here and/or on my youtube channel so that…

1) you can have a chance to win my RAK! and
2) you don’t miss out on all the inspiration to come!

*** Once you subscribe, leave a comment here on this blog post letting me know that you subscribed – this will enter you into my drawing.  At the end of the week, I will randomly choose a winner from the comments on this post!  I am giving away this cool trio of brand new woodblock stamps from Hampton Art/ 7 Gypsies.

RAKOK – next stop on your hop is my lovely teammate, Jelissa!

This hop runs from March 1st – March 7th – plenty of time to make all the stops on a hop chock full of craft from some hugely talented folks!  Just in case you get lost, here is a list of all the participants with links to their blogs.

  1. Hi Vivian,

I love this beautiful box and am fascinated with the shaving cream technique. I am definitetly going to give that one a try. I am curious, you mentioned that you saw that in a mixed media technique book. Would you mind sharing which book that was? There are so many books available but I like the idea of using unusual techniques.

Thank you for all of your great posts and tutorials!
